Addiction is one of the biggest dilemmas of the 21st century. Jerry Moe, an addictions professional and National Director of Children's Programs at the Betty Ford Center, has spent more than twenty years treating people and families in recovery. In his latest book, Moe has assembled a rich and wide-reaching collection of poignant stories and humorous anecdotes about children and teens who are navigating their way through the healing process. Whether as victims of parents going through the drug addiction recovery, or as addicts themselves, Moe shows how youths can cope through simple techniques and tools he's learned from years of experience as one of the key and nationally known professionals in addiction.
Outstanding read on the effects of the disease of addiction on the children.

I knew the author when he was in the bay area....I've heard from the children that were in his groups....He is real, honest and loving and the children see this and feel this...This book I use to educate my parents on the importance of educating their children around issues of addiction and the importance of letting go of secrets... It has been a great tool to educate incarcerated men and women on the effects of their disease on themselves and their children. They don't seem so much to care about themselves, but they do care about their children. This book has been a great motivator for parents to do something about their addiction.

A vital book for understanding the effects that addiction can have on the children, who are so often forgotton amongst the chaos of the disease. Heart touching stories paint a realistic view of what occurs in families who are plagued with alcohol and drug addiction. Easy to read. Highly recommended.
