The small-town quiet is enlivened when Deanna's adopted cousin comes from Cincinnati to spend the summer while his mother has a baby and Vivian Malone marries a shell-shocked WWII veteran. When Deanna hears sounds in the night, she has to find their source and then decide what to do about it.

I enjoyed this book very much. The author might be very talented at writing such an unique poetry. This is the story about three young friends who spend their summer with Deanna's annoying cousin, Rusty. Dog weddings, rinse hairdo's, dance... tha old time's fun!
