Falling in lust with a priest is the last thing on Vivienne Wilde's agenda - but then she's yet to meet Alexandra Westbrooke. This description may be from another edition of this product.
This is my first read by this pair of authors. Their other books are mostly mysteries, not my favorite category. However, based on the quality of writing her I may at least try the first in their mystery series. Here they introduce Alexandra Westbrooke, a unique kind of Episcopal priest who refuses to take the Bible literally and finds most church doctrine questionable. Top it off with the fact that she's beautiful and teaches sexuality in the church, and you've got an intriguing combination. She's quite the character, one you can't help but love. If my preacher had been half as engaging as Alexandra, I might still go to church. Alex has been assigned to get Vivienne Wilde under control. Viv has been writing negative things about the seminary, and even misquotes Alex after their first interview. The pull between the two women is very strong and they cannot resist moving forward with some kind of relationship. Things get very difficult when Alex's father, a retired military man, continues to manipulate her with his opinions. Also when Alex isn't sure how to handle her growing emotional and physical feelings for Viv, she plays the hot/cold game for a while. The only question is, can Alex reconcile her commitment to the church and her undeniable attachment to Viv? Bottom line - I'm ordering another book by these authors. They have lured me in with the quality and thoughtfulness of their writing. Not only does this book deliver a fantastic romance, it also provides a thought-provoking look at some aspects of church doctrine. I went to church my whole life and it even made me think more fully about some things.
wonderful as usual
