I am apprehensive when I bought and read this book. I thought it would be a silly young teen drama but I was proven wrong. I have always enjoyed the drama books of the author but I found this one better than I expected.
I was rooting for Kwame and Romeo as they struggled to fight the violence, drugs and poverty in their neighborhood. This story had a tear jerk moment for me when i thought about Pearl and her struggles and the embarrassment that the family never knew her real story. In the end, all in love is fair.
I truly enjoyed and laughed at the antics of Amir and the coach. I thought Mr. Harold was "hoot".
this is a good drama about urban life with substance.
