Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star

Two year olds in my daycare have been mesmerized by this book for years of circle times. Some have even learned the extended verses.

Twinkle Twinkle is a board book which will delight your toddler. It is sturdy and colorful and a great addition to a child's library.

This book takes the song "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" and puts it into pictures. We all know babies love to be sung to. Most every book I've found that takes a familiar song and turns it into a picture book is a hit with my son, but this one deserves special recognition because of the captivating pictures. Each page features photos of 3 stuffed animals (teddy bear, bunny and mouse) experiencing stars in a different way: peering out the window at the night sky, sitting in bed looking at a star mobile, pointing out constellations (not the real ones, I should warn you). My son's favorite is the full page spread of the night sky with planets, a rocket, the moon (he calls them all "balls"). The last page shows the 3 furry friends snuggled in bed together - making this an ideal bedtime story. The photography is very well done and even after many months I still enjoy looking at this book. I would highly recommend it for any baby from around 6 to 18 months.

This Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star board book is perfect for toddlers. My little girl just loves to push on the star up high in the sky and hear the song. And the rhyming verse is nice too. Though she doesn't yet know what I'm saying as I read along, she enjoys the verse. I know she does. And to top it off Ms. Vasilak's illustrations are just simply divine.
