The cover on my book doesn’t match the one shown when I purchased the book so it went to the bottom of my reading pile...but this really was a good read. Twins Gwendolyn and Anora, though identical, are as different as night and day. Anora being very feminine and Gwendolyn being tomboyish, but the girls were very close until Anora gets betrothed. Gwendolyn starts feeling shut and a bit betrayed by Anora. But Gwendolyn’s boyish ways actually save them from a worse fate when they’re snatched up by some Vikings after going to their favorite grotto the day before Anora’s wedding. At times it seems like Anora wasn’t very strong and seemed ok with Gwendolyn taking the brunt of it all, even “sacrificing” herself because she wanted to ensure Anora got through the kidnapping ordeal unscathed. I don’t think Gwendolyn ever thought she’d find love, but when she did in the most unlikely person she couldn’t embrace how she felt because she felt like she was betraying her sister. Your heart goes out to Gwendolyn because she has to be everybody (Anora and Garric) except herself. Things happen, their secret is found out, and Gwendolyn has to tell Anora how she feels and Hakon. Anora stepped up to support her and showed her strength by being there for Gwendolyn when she needed it most.
