Excellent book for recovery from ANYTHING

I have read and reread this book many times. I have also given it to colleagues and personal friends. It explains the 12-step method for overcoming unhappiness and it is conveyed in an easy-to-understand manner. I highly recommend this book to anyone, but especially for people wishing to gain a better understanding of the 12-steps.

Joe Klaas and The Twelve Steps

Joe Klaas does a great job of explaining the "STEPS" and guiding both the older users and those just introduced to these guides toward mental and spiritual health. The steps are universally applicable to all persons whether in recovery or just seeking a guide towards peace of mind.

A great, easy-to-read supplement to AA's Big Book

This plain-language book explains the rationale for and how to apply the 12-step program pioneered by AA. The result is recovery from alcoholism, addiction, and a host of other problems. I recommend this book to everyone in AA and in "treatment." The program works - try it. What have you got to lose? This book makes it easy for those who struggle with the language of AA's text. For those who have considerable experience with 12-step programs, this book offers interesting insights and ideas that may help you explain the program to others. It's a great companion!

Best Spiritual Book

This is the best spiritual book I have ever read because it is about 'doing' rather than theorizing. God is a verb, not a noun. It takes the traditional 12 Steps and makes it applicable for everyone, even if you're not fortunate enough to be an alcoholic. That sounds odd, but if you speak to many recovering alcoholics, they thank their disease and their use of the 12 Steps for their awakening to a Spirit-infused universe.

Best of Both Worlds

Spirit vs Spirit! This is the definitive essay on living a free life! Don't whine--Just work the steps.
