Twelve lies you hear in church.

Riter's 12 lies series is well driven with this erudite book which takes on 12 common lies about church and ones life as a Christian within the church today. Riter writes well with strong illustrations and poignant points to ponder and to be challenged by. He takes on some sacred cows of church life, and simply with the Bible refutes them all. Riter passionatly takes on the modus operendii of church life and shows how much of it is shallow and spiritless. He shows us the damage brought by false perception and at times false doctrines and the guilt and the great harm suffered by the tens of thousands who are afflicted by the twelve lies you hear in Church. This is must reading for church leadership and Chritians as a whole. As one who reads a book a week, this is in my top ten books of this year and is highly recommended. Also read Riter's Twelve lies you hear about the Holy Spirit.

Correcting Misconceptions of the Twelve Lies

Christians often pick up false ideas regarding their faith. In over twenty years of pastoring, Tim Riter has seen countless misconceptions keep sincere believers from growing in Christ. In his book, Twelve Lies You Hear in Church, Tim talks about twelve of these false ideas and offers the truth regarding each to help Christians remove the roadblocks to their spiritual journey. He deals with issues such as: Only Good Things Happen to Good People, What If I Marry the Wrong Person?, and Little Sins Aren't Really That Bad. I highly recommend this book for those seeking to deepen their relationship with God. Susan Titus Osborn Director, Christian Communicator Manuscript Critique Service Author of 28 books

Twelve Lies

Tim Riter's Twelve Lies is excellent theologically and practically. It is written in Tim's winsome and personal style. The twelve "lies" cover several of the personal issues persons have with being satisfied with the faith and issues that keep them from being effective. The first three chapters and the last are the best. In fact, chapter 12 "We Have The Truth--The Truth About Unity" is worth the price of the book and is a message needed in the church and pulpit. In that chapter, Tim sorts out distinctives needed to build genuine Christian unity and approaches to avoid. It's all securely tied to the Scriptures.
