THINGS YOU DON'T KNOW

the most wanted series is pretty good at showing you things you don't know.i picked up most wanted the fifties in a dollar store and it was great! this book will tell you things that are fun to know, for instance that laverne and shirley really didn't like each other nor did fred and ethel. if you are a classic tv person this is one for your shelf.

A look at TV fun!

It's not rocket science, but this book has some fun TV trivia. I learned a few things I had never came across before, and was reminded of a few things I had forgotten about (like AfterMASH). Updated for the 21st Century, the book has dropped some of the more interesting TV trivia bits (like Heil Honey, I'm Home, which is supposed to be one of the worst shows ever aired) but it's a nice diversion. The major drawback to this book is that if you're not heavily invested in several programs that were big in the 1990s you're going to have to skip over entire chapters.

Potted Guide to the Boob Tube!

Another in the Brassey series of 'most wanted' books, Douglas Tonk's book is an entertaining, informative look at the best and worst of American television. Whether you're a TV addict or a trivia nut, you'll find something of interest in this book. Tonks casts a wide net as regards TV. Included in the book are sections on famous theme songs, spin-offs that flopped, service comedies, TV-land animal stars, famous commercials, actors who starred in the most TV series, movie stars that started in TV, prime-time cartoons, shows that lasted for one episode, undersea shows, visitors to Gilligan's Island, and so on. Even if you're a die-hard TV buff, you'll probably learn something new from Tonks' book. It's all lighthearted and enjoyable and easy on the pocketbook.
