TV's Greatest Hits

The great TV-show resource, "The Complete Directory to Prime Time Network TV Shows," gave birth to this smaller volume in 1985. It presents the 150 "greatest" TV shows, based on the length of time aired and regular Nielsen rankings. Compiled before the cable boom, this guide includes only shows airing after 6 p.m. on the three major networks. Like its larger parent volume, it presents the shows in alphabetical order and gives the dates aired, network(s), primary cast list and background info. The advantage of owning this volume over the larger parent book? It's smaller? It weeds out the worst TV shows? Hmmm ... Not so sure, since everyone has a different opinion on what's good and what's not on TV.
