Blame Your Genes - Not Yourself

Being 100 pounds overwieght for the past 20 years has been exhausting work. Finally, a program that works. This book is written so anyone can understand. Having read Dr. Rivas's book, I asked my own Doctor to help me to lose weight, utilizing the easy to understand program laid out in detail in this book. My Doctor refused to help me and advised me to go to weight watchers and stop eating so much. As luck would have it, I live where Dr. Rivas practices, so needless to say, my next stop was his office. I called for an appointment and was asked my height and weight by his staff. Upon revealing that I was 5' 8" and 310 pounds, I was advised to come in that same day, as I am dangerously obese. I transferred my recent blood tests to Dr. Rivas, which revealed cholesterol in the range of 300 and sugar levels very close to being diabetic. Meeting Dr. Rivas, he assured me he could help. First, he advised that I was not a fat, lazy, undisciplined, slob who ate too much. The problem is in the genes I inherited and a brain chemistry out of control. This is the first time anyone had made me feel like I could do something about my weight without starving myself. Well, it is now one year and 85 pounds later. My colesterol is down to 170 and sugar is well within normal. I am still losing weight, I excerise regularly, am eating well balanced meals (note: not starving), and feel better than I have for over 20 years. Thanks to Dr. Rivas helping me to reset my brain to turn off the hunger switch. Dr. Rivas saved my life!!!

Turn Off the Hunger Switch

I am and EMT and have to grab a meal whenever and whereever I can. It's not easy to get good nutrition that way. When I read this easy-to-read book and began to try to figure out my own profile, I started trying different supplements and amino acids that Dr. Rivas recommended in the book. In 4 months I lost 34 pounds and have maintained the loss for the last 5 months. The first 16 pounds were lost Without using Phentermine. I've lost from a size 18 down to a 12. Before that I had not been able to lose any weight in the past 25 years. This is the easiest thing I've tried. The hardest thing is just swallowing the vitamin and supplement pills every day and that is only discipline!

Finally, a solution that works.

I heard the tale end of an interview with Dr. Rivas on the radio this past Spring, enough to spark my interest anyway. The few reviews that were currently on this site indicated that the book was probably worth the read.Even though I run regularly and try to eat a healthy diet, I have continued to gain weight for the past 8 years. I tried counting calories, increasing my weekly running mileage, group weight loss programs, etc. The scale just kept creeping up.After reading this book I was able to determine what "type" I was and purchase the supplements recommended. Since starting on the supplements 8 weeks ago, I've lost 8 pounds. I'm eating well, but the sugar cravings and compulsive evening eating have dissappeared. I'm not "dieting," simply eating when I'm hungry and making good food choices most of the time. When I do decide to eat something decadent I don't feel complelled to eat great quantities, a little is quite satisfying these days. All of the behaviors that have sabotaged past attempts at weight loss are gone!

FINALLY an answer!

I have this book and I am also a patient of Dr. Rivas. I know every diet program tells you that it's the "latest and greatest" and it's hard to know which one to try. THIS IS THE ONE!Ofcourse I was a little skeptical at first (who isn't?) But here's what makes it different:A) You don't have to starve yourself or feel deprivedB) You don't have to exerciseC) You don't have to watch what you eat or count caloriesD) You will KEEP the weight offE) It makes your body do the work for you...no willpower required!I have tried everything...[another program] worked for me at one time but I quickly strayed from the diet and gained all of my weight back. Plus who has time to count every calorie and keep track of everything you eat? Not me.Dr. Rivas is amazing...this is the most inspirational weight loss book I have ever read. He gives hope to those of us who have lost all hope. This is the way to do it...not those "lose 40 lbs in 3 days" plans. Dr. Rivas is a DOCTOR not just some "weight loss guru". Believe me, he KNOWS what he's talking about. The best part about Dr. Rivas' plan is that he isn't in it for the money....he gives you natural alternatives as an option so you can do it all on your own. I urge you to read his book...it will make SUCH a difference in your life...it sure has with mine.I've lost 21 pounds and counting....with NO effort! I wish I would've found him years ago!

Turn off the hunger switch forever

Recently my mom was a patient of Dr. Rivas, so it was no suprise for me to see that Dr. Rivas wrote a book. My mother lost 80 lbs. on Dr. Rivas's diet and the book gave me an understanding to how the program and medicine works for her specific brain type and body type. I found the book very informative and interesting to read. My mom tried every diet imaginable and Dr. rivas was the only one in the medical field who saw her problem as not her fault and cureable. This book makes it easy for people to go to their doctor with a knowledge that they can be cured of obesity and there is help. I recommend this book highly for anyone who has fought to lose weight and needs answers.
