I liked his book because I believe it will appeal to a broad audience. I found it speaking to me in my business and my stock trading with useful principles and real life examples. Here is a brief outline of principles of the book: 1. Maintain your health. 2. Keep evolving. 3. be brilliant at the basics. 4. Keep going forward. 5. Keep refining your team. 6. Let go of the rope. 7. Never skip steps. 8. Maintain a razor-sharp mind. 9. Boost your skills. 10. Never get greedy. 11. Remain on the offensive. 12. Remain spontaneous. Let this former Olympic cyclist and former member of Lance Armstrong's team show you how to join him in the winner's circle.

This book is easy to read and loaded with information that anyone can apply to their life. I love what he writes in the introduction, "We all have the raw human resources to become successful. The secret to a passionate, productive, purposeful, and prosperous life is to identify and refine our talents into highly productive assets enabling us to conceive of and parlay our efforts into goals accomplished. Successful people know that talent and will aren't enough, so they focus their time and effort on honing their skills sufficiently to manifest their aspirations and then place them within well-constructed plans." (vii) I appreciated the contents of this title, the organization and practical nature of it. Throughout my reading, I used my highlighter often. I highly recommend it.

Although written by a former Olympian and athlete, the principles outlined in the book are not strictly for athletes; the advice and motivation can be applied to many avenues of life. For business, creativity, any avenue, "Turn it Up!" is an inspirational must for any reader.

Finally Dr. Spencer details his secrets for all to learn from! I've followed Dr. Spencer's career for the last ten years. He is the master coach. I have seen the athletes he works with become champions. This book details what he does that moves the ordinary to extraordinary. I learned that this is a process, not an accident. Dr Spencer took great care to make it practicle and appliable and I could immediately get his concept and then apply it to my life.
