This is one of those books that I will read more than once. I love the characters and the plot and the all around feeling this book gives. I am certain that I will read Turn back Time to my children and be excited to explain the history to them. I definitely cant wait for the next one.
Great Book for All Ages or Gender

My husband and I both thoroughly enjoyed reading "Turn Back Time" and we have passed the book on to my mother to read and our daughters. The only bad part was when I got to the end and ran out of book but didn't want it to end. The story about this delightful family is so interesting that we can't wait for the sequel to come out.

Turn Back Time was difficult to put down. The characters came to life and experienced many unexpected events that kept my nose in the book. Fantastic!
Absorbing story!

I thought this would be an interesting book because of the historical aspect so I looked forward to reading it. I was so pleasantly surprised to find it is an absorbing "can't put it down" kind of writing. I loved the characters and felt such a human connection because the authors take you so easily through the emotions the characters are experiencing. You feel the sadness and sorrow, the joy and laughter and the jubilation and exhiliration when hope and joy win out. It is a "must read"!
Memories Remembered
Published by Thriftbooks.com User , 24 years ago
Both my husband and I grew up in coal mining communities in Southern Illinois. Our grandfathers and fathers worked in the coal mines. The mine disaster in the book reminds us of the Orient Mine disaster which occurred about 3 days before Christmas when several men lost their lives. The unionization of the mines in the novel also bought back memories. There was quite a lot of violence in our area at that time also. Smith Delaney's characterization was one of the highlights of the book. He goes from a man with a wild reputation to one of the good guys at the end of the book. And of course who could forget little Dulcie, the big sister who really takes a liking to Smith Delaney. I could hardly put the book down, read it in two days. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and am looking forward to the sequel.
