True to Life Adventure Stories

This must have been an extremely successful publication as there is a follow-up volume published three years later. I bought this anthology because it was highly recommended in the book by Tee Corinne `Courting Pleasure'. The anthology brought me to enjoy authors I had not read - Linnea A. Due Norma Stafford - Mary Jo McConahay - Sharon Isabell - Kate Inman - Pat Parker - Linda Marie - Judy Grahn - Loyce Maupin - Evan Rubin - Linda Marie. The highlight for me was learning a new name in lesbian literature and than using the internet to search out all things Judy Grahn. From the Introduction by Judy Grahn "Murdering the King's English" - `I began gathering these stories together in 1974, having asked myself: What is a woman's adventure story, ad getting no reply whatsoever. As the manuscripts began coming in, I realized I was picking them for their realistic grappling with real-life situations, for unsentimentally and clarity, for integrity. They do what I had hoped stories would do: provoke, teach, reveal women to other women, arouse strong emotions, redefine- because they are true. By true I mean they are based on information which is close to, or is, the original source of the story.
