I was given this book for Christmas when I was around 8 years old. I read it at least a dozen times within the first few months of having it. The story of faithful Zip and how he looks after his dim-witted master amused me to no end!Sadly, most of my childhood books have been lost in yard sales and numerous moves. Now I can't wait to share this little treasure with my neice, who is just learnig to appreciate reading. It is a fun books for kids, a great early reader, and just as amusing for adults to read out loud. It uses dialect and sounds that kids will love to hear and repeat (like Tom's "talking shoes"--SQEAKY-CREAKY-CROAKY-CREAKY-SQUEAK!).This book is just plain fun!!
Ansel Aguirre is glad he found this book in his dad's garage

I knew I needed a book report. It was due and I didn't know what to do. I went to the garage and asked my dad. He's pretty good at this deadline stuff. My dad smiled at me and walked over to the corner of the garage. There, under a couple of sawdust and dust covered mexican blankets was a book shelf, full of kids books. It was like finding a pot of paper gold. He had all these books from a long time ago. Triple Trouble for Hound Dog Zip was the book I chose for my book report and it was a good choice. The adventures of Tom and his dog Zip made me want to read more of Mr. O Steele's books. My dad says we can start looking for them at the garage sales. We both agree this is a good adventure to do together and that Mr. O Steele's books are worth looking for.
