Louis Leithold is my favorite author of The Calculus (the version I read is with Analytic Geometry and was received as a gift from one of my old professors in 1987). So I looked forward to obtaining this text of Trigonometry. He remains outstanding. He is so fluid and clear. His proofs are vigorous and complete. What I liked about Leithold from the beginning, is he left nothing to chance of previous knowledge, he always starts at the beginning. He virtually would even prove how to count to ten. In my opinion he is one of the Classic Mathematicians. I have been using mathematics for thirty years now (and still consider myself a student), and I am sure as all parents and students are aware text books that are required for class rooms are constantly changing. Often at a great financial consequence to the student. This is one math text book that should remain with the student for the rest of their lives. A student that is strong in trigonometry will always see the light at the end of the tunnel in their mathematic endeavors, I cannot over emphasis how important of a subject it is to master. In my opinion this is one of the best text books to achieve that goal. This is one author that I would have liked to meet. ISBN- 0-201-17056-6.
