Trapped In Ice had alot of excitement in it. If you are more into adventures book's you would like this one by Eric Walters. I liked the book and you probely will to if you read it. If I were to give an appropiate age gruop for this book it would be from ages 11-13.

Trapped In Ice

Trapped in Ice, was a very interesting book to read. I had read this book when I was in Grade 8 as an English assignment. Eric Walters, is a talented authoring , as he has proved in many of his other books. I recommend this book to ages 9- 15. I promise if this book is read with interest, you will highly enjoy it.

A sad but true story

'Trapped in ice' Is a true story, based apon real-life characters. It is a childrens novel, suitable, I think, for 8-13 year olds. The language used is quite basic and so therefore easy to understand. It is the story of how a mother and her two children go with a Canadian expidition to the Arctic. The mother, working on the ship as a seamistress, brings her kids along as they have no father. The story is narrated by the girl. The boat they ride on eventually gets trapped in ice and the whole of the expidition is forced to 'abandon ship' and try to reach land by travelling over ice (trusting the sled-dogs with their lives). The story comes to a dramatic ending --- you'll have to read the book for yourself to find out the end. I've read this book about 4 times now and everytime, I cried at the end. A powerful novel that shows the force of mother nature. A book any Canadian should read.
