Trailblazers: Poems of Exploration

This delightful book is not just for kids. For adults, it is a trip down memory lane, of adventures we might or might not have learned about, or have forgotten. I like poetry, but so much of what is written today loses itself in a maze of obfuscatory verbiage. Trailblazers stands out for its clarity. It demonstrates once again that beautiful poetry can be created from straightforward language. My kids were entranced by this collection, and so was I.

Exploration poetry

A history of land, sea, and space investigation from the time of Adam and Eve to Sylvia Earle, the contemporary ocean floor explorer. Over 120 such activities are explained in poetic terms. Based on research by the author at the renown Explorers Club, this book is an enjoyable must read for all students commencing the study of exploration.
