Book Overview

A search for three abducted teens--

and a K-9 on the case.

After surviving a vicious attack in the woods, Tori Campbell awakes to her worst nightmare--her son and his two friends are missing. She calls the one person she knows she can trust, her late husband's best friend, former DEA agent Michael Lane. Together with his search-and-rescue K-9, they must track the boys and figure out who took them--and why. Only, the Indiana wilderness is full of dangers beyond their abductor. Can Michael and Tori find the teens...even if it means falling into a sinister trap?

Definitely recommend!

This was the first Love Inspired Romance book I've ever read, and I loved it! The characters in this book were realistic and relatable. I especially loved the character of Ducky, Michael's sweet golden retriever that works both as a search and rescue dog, and a emotional/ physical support dog. I'd love if Ducky showed up in a later book. :) I liked the faith content in this book too, and how both main characters had struggles but eventually grew closer to God because of them. I also liked the Bible verse that the author referenced on the title page. (Psalms 46:1- "God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.") This is the kind of book you'll want to read as quick as possible, so grab your coffee, a blanket, and a cozy seat to read this book from cover to cover! Thank you to the author and Harlequin (Love Inspired Romance) Publishing for the complimentary signed paperback I received to review through Just Read Tours. I was not required to write a positive review, and the thoughts above are my own.

On the edge of your seat suspense.

I received this book as an ARC with no expectations of a positive review. Tori took her son/brother in law who he has raised since he was two years old along with his friends Kurt and Andrew went camping in Indiana's Wildfire State Forest. These teens seem to enjoy spending time with her. Camping is not her thing. Her late husband Ryan loved to camp. She thought that it would help Joey who had been down lately. After spending some time around the fire, she decides to turn in. The boys stayed up. Tori is awakened by a noise. She comes out of her tent to see the boys laying on the ground with the tents and camping equipment all over. Suddenly, she is grabbed and thrown into a tree. When she comes to, the boys are gone. She tries her phone. She is able to make a call to Michael that is broken up. Join Tori and Michael as they try to find the boys. This book is loaded with adventure and questions throughout the book. This is a must read for all suspense fans.

Intense inspirational suspense

On a camping trip with her teenage son and two of his friends, Tori Campbell awakens after escaping an attack to find all three boys missing. She reaches out to Michael Lane, her late husband's best friend, for help. Along with his search and rescue dog, Michael and Tori begin searching for the boys. They are repeatedly attacked by someone while searching. Will they survive long enough to find the boys before they succumb to the weather or dangers of the wilderness? This story is intense with the missing teens and escalating attempts against Tori and Michael. Having raised two boys, I can relate to Tori's anxiety fueled by feelings of helplessness and angst. This is a nail-biting read filled with danger and uncertainty. I have enjoyed every book I have read by Sami Abrams but this just might be the best one yet. I received an advance copy to read and I honestly recommend this book for anyone who loves inspirational suspense.
