A simple, sweet introduction to Shabbat complete with Shabbat candles, challah and the sweet grapes for the Kiddush cup. "Shabbat peace is as warm as a big hug!" This is, without question, my two-year-old's favourite book. It goes everywhere with her! Tot Shabbat presents the most familar of Sabbath objects and activies: the kiddush cup, challah, and ending with the Sh'ma. We think it's a great book!

My 15 month old son loves this book. It is very simple yet captures the feel of the Sabbath. He identifies the candles, challah and wine. Yet it is short enough to keep his attention. We read it over and over again, several times a day. We first borrowed this book from the library so now I am ordering him his own copy to read on Shabbat.
