Torts: Aspen Roadmap Law Course Outline

These cards are great because nearly every answer has the elements of the tort and the reasoning behind the answer. It was repetitive and annoying while studying, but reading the same reasoning over and over really ingrained it. Torts exams are touchy-feely and your essay answers have to be geared toward your professor. That being said, 1L torts are survey courses which can cover a huge area of case law. These flash cards helped me memorize a large number of concepts correctly in a very short period of time. After cramming with these cards, I was able to pour loads of relevant information into the issue-spotting portion of my exam. One word of caution . . . It's important to listen to your professor. Some of the content, while maybe "correct," was not in line with my professor's teaching. Undoubtedly, your professor will disagree with some minor point of law presented in these cards.

These flash cards were better than any supplement I have purchased, so far. Any ambiguities I had were cleared through these cards. Even topics I had a tough time with after speaking with the professor personally, were cleared up through these cards. Great for help with multiple choice questions especially, because they give great hypos. Also great for essays because they lay out the elements of each tort, defense, etc., and explain them. Also, one of my most favorite parts was the acronyms they provide. I would recommend these flash cards to anyone suffering through, or even sickly enjoying, torts.

I'm not sure why a lot of these reviews mention flash cards, I have this book and it didn't come with anything like that. However, it is a great study aid. It has flow charts, a simplified outline, exam tips, and practice questions. It really gave me a better understanding of the subject.

When I ordered this book, I was skeptical it would be of much use, and didn't even pick it up to help me study until the night before my final. When I finally got around to reading it, I realized that it was a wonderful resource. The tips about what to expect on the exam were very helpful and easy to remember. The information is given to you in a way that helps you retain key words and facts you need as you are writing your essay answers on the test. I believe that this book helped me more on my Final than the review of all my other materials from class and online.
