Tornado Pilot

As a fellow military pilot I found Ian Black's Tornado Pilot to be a most interesting look into the life of a modern day "fast-mover" pilot serving with the Royal Air Force.Chocked full of excellent photography, one truly gets to experience some of the wonderful sights available to today's military pilots. With detailed commentary to accompany each photograph the only thing missing is the sound of the jet engines and the pilot workload!I highly recommend this book for its excellent photography of todays frontline RAF aircraft as well as the great detail in which each photograph is explained. A must-read for aviation enthusiast and modelers alike who are interested in todays frontline RAF aircraft.

Ian Black's book "Tornado Pilot" is a fantastic look into the world of front line RAF aircraft. Though the focus is on the Tornado F.3 fighter, Black "shoots" the gambit, from the venerable Lightning, to the Phantom, and even trainers.This book follows Black's career in the RAF, from him time as a navigator, up to and including his time serving as an "exchange" pilot with the French Air Force."Tornado Pilot" isn't about writing, though. This book features some of the most spectacular aerial photography I have ever seen. The views from the cockpit are incredible, and Black accompanies each shot with complete descriptions of the events, aircraft, and people that bring this work to life.If you are an aviation enthusiast, I highly recommend "Tornado Pilot" for your library. With stirring images and informative text, you're bound to be as pleased as I was.
