A Classic Piece

My father first bought this book just after it was first released in 1980 shortly after the death of John Lennon (his is the last chapter). Several years later, I pulled the silver and black hardback down from the book shelf and adopted it as my own.An amazingly diverse and insightful piece of work, this book introduced me to many people who, to this day continue to intrigue and inspire me. Among those include Rudolph Valentino, Marilyn Monroe, James Dean, Sal Mineo, Brian Epstein, Cass Elliott, Janis Joplin, Freddie Prize, and, of course, the aforementioned John Lennon, just to name a few. A truly priceless piece of work, far superior to any attempted reissue since.
