Tong Sing The Chinese Book of Wisdom

This is a poor book for the knowledge of Chinese culture and tradition. The author did not respect intellectual property by copying the cover form the original Chinese publisher. He just made up the materials deem Chinese to mislead readers especially in confusing Confucius and Shou Sing(Longevity Star) as Lao Tzu. The original Tong Sing is a yearly publication with a weather chart on the year so that farmers can plant crop accordingly. It is the Chinese Farmer Almanac. It also includes the progression development on fertilized egg into fetus and eventually baby. It has a few pages on Chinese sounding English for conversation pidgin way. Every Chinese family will buy one for the new year, seeking guidance and fortune. This one is a poor orientation to lead to misunderstanding and misconception on Chinese heritage. Do not follow the blind and ignorant joker on lies and deception. Do not WASTE money on this book for Chinese wisdom and tradition.

I must say other reviews knock it based on the authors personal opinion, oh well. The content of the book I found greatly intresting and I couldnt put the book down. It is the broad aspect view I've been looking for!

The authors of this book is creative to introduce Chinese culture in a book seems to be a tong sing which is a fortune-telling book in China. This book includes sufficient information about Chinese culture such as cuisine, festivals, etc. It is really an interesting book to learn Chinese culture for non-Chinese.
