Toiles for all seasons: Elegant text, illustrations lack quality

This elegant little book presents a thorough overview of the relationship between European copperplate- and roller-printed cotton fabrics of the late 18th - early 19th c. known as "Toiles de Jouy" and original printed sources (etchings and engravings) that likely served as inspirations or models for these fabrics' designs. The quality of illustrations, especially those reproducing actual textiles, leaves much to be desired.

textile history

As a lover of toiles and their history this is a most useful book.It can be a little technical but if you are interested in the history of printed textiles this is a must
