It is aimed at a WELS member seeking to learn the history of their church body, yet would be appropriate for anyone to learn about WELS history. It is a factual yet does not attempt the depth of a scholarly work. It neither glosses over controversies nor does it adopt a preachy tone, yet it is not ashamed to present and espouse the beliefs of WELS. All in all, a great place to start if you are interested in the history of the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod.
