I'm Not the Target Audience

More like a 3.5 for me It was very cutesy and sometimes you just need to turn off your brain and read something cute. I also don’t like a lot of romance in my romance books (I know, I know, what can I say? Ya girl has issues and irreparable emotional damage out the wazoo.) so while I saw some people saying Lara Jean was babyish and prudish, when it came to the mushy stuff, I personally felt relieved she was like this, even if it’s a super tired trope. But also there was some stuff I REALLY didn’t like: Two different characters (boys) tell Lara Jean she isn’t like other girls. UUUUUUUGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHH forever. I have no idea how Josh kissed Lara Jean, was DEFINITELY the one that initiated the kiss, A KISS SHE DID NOT WANT AND DID NOT CONSENT TO, and Margot is mad at Lara Jean? It’s a no from me. Also hey listen, the dad sounds very nice and very good and I personally believe in kids helping around the house, but if the case is the kids stop helping and everything grinds to a halt, which the Song girls (at least the older girls) absolutely made it sound like was a very real possibility, then Huston, we have a problem. Back to Josh again, he’s hot garbage. Giving me real “Not all men, nice guys finish last” vibes. Also I just personally felt a little strange watching a 16/17 year old girl call her parents mommy and daddy. The ex girlfriend is the villain of this book (even though I think the true villain is Josh but whatever whatever) Please make some female friends Lara Jean, I’m begging you with tears in my eyes. More than one female friend anyway. Also just the line “Peter has a way on convincing me to do things I don’t want to do. Is this love?” UUUUUGGGGGHHHHHH NO. Other than that, a pretty mostly decent book!

Don't Judge a Book by Its Cover

Yes, the saying refers to people, not books, but seriously... don't judge a book by its cover! The photography for the cover of this novel, not to mention the model posing as Lara Jean, is beautiful, but the book's writing is subpar. The back cover makes it sound gripping, and it gets good at the climax, but most of the book is the main character trying to decide who she likes. At least it was an easy read, had a few likable side characters, and the main character was fun to listen to, as if she and I were having a conversation. I might read the sequel, but for now, I know there are better, more promising authors I should devote my time and reading to.

Asked for good, got new!

Read the summer I turned pretty and thought it was just ok. I decided to try this one, and it was GREAT! Highly Recommend

End Your Stories

If anyone writes a similar series but called it: 'To All the Books I've Loved Before' I will bake you a thousand cookies and love you forever. Could you imagine? As far as 'To All the Boys I've Loved Before'... It was fantastic. Till the last 10%. This didn't need to be a trilogy. It doesn't need to end like it does. It shouldn't end like it does! Gaaaaaaaaaahhhh I stayed up late nearly every night because I was so sucked in to this book and that ending! But the rest of the book is good. Real good. It's one of those books you have to close every five minutes to hold your breath. I didn't think I'd like it. I'm very skeptical when it comes to popular books, especially ones that get turned into a movie, but I needed a good ole romance and figured why not give it ago? Thank you, Lara Jean.

Favorite book!

Super cute and easy to read! Loved the whole series ❤

Great read

This is a fun, sweet story with relatable characters. It’s not my favorite couples or romances, but it’s definitely worth reading. I recommend this to anyone who enjoys authors like, John Green or Rainbow Rowell .

The perfect high school love

What I like the must about the book was Peter I started to read this book, but I really love it. I recommended, if you want to day dream about a guy.

better than the movie

all I can say is, this book was way better than I thought it would be
