A Brilliant Guide To The Fighting Fantasy Planet Of Titan

This book is not a gamebook. It's the Encyclopedia of the planet Titan, where most of the FF adventures are set. And an extremely well written one at that! As the blurb says the book covers the Fighting Fantasy globe in broad detail, detailing the world we FF readers all know and love. It covers everything you can think of, races, religions, geography, history, calendars, travelling guides, and even jokes. This book is really one of a kind. It's written precisely the way a real encyclopedia would be written, and therefore makes the existence of Titan that much more credible! The authors compiled data from the gamebooks and built a whole New World, discussing facts and building onto more facts about their creation. They really went to a lot of effort to make readers believe that this world is as real as any place could be, especially with references about where they got the information. E.g. passages about explorers sailing from one land to another, wizards who disguised themselves as monsters to infiltrate hostile cultures and slaves escaping from their masters to tell about their societies. The book starts with the basic geography of the three present-day continents, moving to each place in turn with a brief description of it and its inhabitants. And then moves to the very beginning of time when the Gods created the world and races. Then logically continues to the earliest known accounts of evolution, history, cataclysmic wars, splitting of the continents and the gradual development of the good and evil Gods' creations. Then we return to present day and cover in more detail all the races, religions, deities, magic, heroes and villains. Basically everything there is to know about Titan! And there are more than a few interesting stories along the way.Not only is "Titan" just what any enthusiastic FF reader would enjoy, but in itself it's a work of art. An incredible coverage of the world of the gamebooks with marvelous illustrations. Anyone who doesn't like the gamebooks would love this book anyway. Because it is really a story on its own. A very cleverly thought-out guidebook to a world filled with magic, evil, treasure, heroes and monsters and adventures waiting to be...adventured.N.B.
