three little cajun pigs

I bought this book for my niece. I haven't gotten a chance to read it to her yet, but I have read twice myself! The pictures are so cute, and the story is precious. I absoluetly love this book. Although I don't think he gives the correct pronunciation for Ulyss. The accent should be on the "U" like in the word useless

THREE CAJUN PIGS

SINCE I WAS BORN AND RAISED IN LOUISIANA THIS BOOK IS JUST CUTE AS IT CAN BE. I ALWAYS TELL THE STORY OF THE THREE LITTLE PIGS TO MY GRANDSONS AND NOW I CAN READ IT WITH THE CAJUN SLANG BECAUSE DEEP DOWN WITHIN THERE WILL ALWAYS BE A LITTLE CAJUN IN MY GRANDCHILREN EVEN THOUGH THEY DO NOT LIVE IN LOUSISANA

Very authentic! Very funny!

Being a born and bred cajun, I was a little skeptical about how authentic it would be to the dialect. I was blown away. The dialect is spot-on. The story reminds me of a good Disney movie -- great spin on a classic story, fun for kids and enough one-liners to keep the parents in stitches! The writing is SO clever. I recommend this one for every cajun parent in particular, especially those who have left Louisiana like me, and want to give their kids a taste of the heritage! I also recommend Petite Rouge Riding Hood, although the Three Pigs is my fave.

An Absolute Gem!

My husband (together with our 3-year old daughter) discovered this book at our local library, and it was so much fun that we read it every day until it had to go back. The only downside is that you might argue about who gets to read it aloud! We think that this book is so much fun (as is Petite Rouge, which we checked out subsequently) that we are buying it for our household for Christmas, as well as for all of our friends that have small children.
