Love is better the second time around, if you are aware that it is the second time. Kelee Kinglsy, a decorator living in New York, is in St. Pala, an islandin the Caribbean, visiting her sister. Fresh out of a bad relationship, Kelee only wants to reconnect with her sister and prepare for the arrival of her niece. Kelee is there only two days when she meets Sean and is already rethinking her vow of celibacy. Sean St. John, the minister of security on St. Pala, is also quite taken with Kelee, but this is not their first meeting. Ten years ago Sean and Kelee had a summer fling which left him with a broken heart. Sean is surprised that she does not recognize him, and is aware that he has never forgotten her. But the timing for a relationship is not good. Sean is working on a case connected to drug smugglers, which makes him a target. His involement with Kelee puts her in the hands of a kidnapper; now both their lives are in grave danger. THIS TIME is warm, engrossing and suspenseful. It is about the folly of a young girl's heart, a young man's need to forgive and the danger surrounding drugs. The characterization and the message are good and the relationship between the two sisters is refreshing. An added bonus is ambiance of the Caribbean; it gives readers a sense of being on vacation. This was an enjoyable read. If you are looking for a short story with a little punch this book is for you. This author appears to be up and coming so I hope in the future her stories become more detailed.
