This is a wonderful book to give as a "big brother or sister" gift when a new child arrives in a family. In a poetic and comforting way, it shares a family's experience on the day their child was born. The story flows gracefully and whimsically as do the exquisite illustrations that are in perfect sync with the story. This is the kind of children's book you keep and revisit for years to come!

A beautiful book for toddlers to see and hear over and over again! We loved the illustrations of the birthday cake and of the mice enjoying it. This book prompts great discussion about the night our kids were born. Enjoy it like we have!!
