Being in the Medical feild, I find this book to be very inspiring. This is a time of mediocrity. We need more people like this person in our profession because bottomline, the patient could be you that is being cared for....

One does not have to be in the medical field to understand this book. It is not overly drowned with medical terms, but at the same time gives a true account of Murrah's struggle to be one of the best heart surgeon possible and truly care about his patients at the same time.

This is a must read for anyone considering a General Surgery Residency, and a good look at the day-to-day struggles of a surgeon-in-training for the general public. Honest, at times hilarious, and captivating. Looking forward to Murrah's next work.
Real Medicine

This is the first book I've read that addresses the reality of medicine and the struggle of those who choose this career path. The use of his own personal experiences and clear examples of the "cost" of his education show us the great sacrifices of residents. Thank you for finally giving us the real story with none of the TV glamour or literary exaggeration.
