Book Overview

Thinking Shakespeare gives the actor practical advice about how to make Shakespeare's words feel spontaneous, passionate, and real. Based on Barry Edelstein's twenty-year career directing Shakespeare's plays, this book provides the tools that actors need to fully understand and express the power of Shakespeare's language.

Great book: thought-provoking and fun.

This well-written, insightful book will be of interest not only to actors and directors, but anyone who wants to spend some time with the Bard. If I were teaching an English Lit course I would include this along with the plays. If you like Shakespeare and you enjoy thinking, you will love this book!
