Finally A Title That Matches The Contents Of The Book!

Dr. Staples does a great job of portraying lots of success concepts without making his book seem one big long drawn out affair. He borrows quotes and tidbits heavily from other authors and I appreciated that. As I read the book I eagerly anticipate the snippits of information he'd insert (all very plainly attributed to the other authors). The book is an easy read and captures most of the essential success concepts. It doesn't break a lot of new ground - and that was perfect. I found it to present some information in a brand new way that had me sitting up and taking notice. As an example, in chapter 11 the author talks about three ways to persuade other people. The first way he mentions is a silly one that probably all of us have tried -- and it is to ignore people "and simply hope they will act in your best interest". He goes on to elaborate that "..by ignoring people you are giving up any hope of influencing them and thus surrendering yourself to the whims of fate".It is little powerful bits of information like the above which made me glad I read this book. I'll definitely refer back to sections throughout the year. If you are serious about improving your life I think you'll enjoy this book a lot.

Outstanding!

The author does an excellent job of providing a roadmap toward self improvement. He provides several empirical examples of studies that validate the importance of your beliefs and thinking in your ultimate success. He clearly describes exercises that you can undertake to set goals, change attitudes and beliefs, and use mental imagery to lead you toward success in your chosen endeavor. By far the best of all the self help books I have read.

This book has become my Bible

I've read numerous self-help books but none like Dr. Staples's THINK LIKE A WINNER. This book is solely responsible for my self-reinvention. I feel I'm in debt to Dr. Staples--and his unique way of planting his beneficial anecdotes in one's mind--for invalidating and transmuting all the false, self-destructive beliefs I had about myself. It hasn't been two years since I read the book, and, already, I'm at an advantage in my life--personally and professionally.

The Best of All the Rest

I've probably read every self help book known to man andI'm still not a winner. But I think I've taken a step closer tothat goal after reading Dr. Staples THINK LIKE A WINNER. What I really enjoyed about the book and have found extremely helpful is all the information on the brain and howchanging your thinking can change your life. The book offers practical extremely useful techniques for reprograming your mind toward succes. I will say that without a doubt this is the most usefulself help book I have ever read! I find it strange that THINKLIKE A WINNER hasn't received more publicity and rank much higherin sales. But then again in today's world marketing often determines sales more than content. I think it was Henry David Thoreau who said that readinga book can change a life. Henry David was right on the moneyconcering Dr. Staples book. It has the power to change lives.

Read and then truly think like a winner !

This particular author going by the lack of reviews does not seem to be read as much as the likes of some of the other popular authors he credits. I don't know why as both his books "Think Like A Winner" and "In Search of True Self" are extremely informative and encouraging hitting deep while still being easy to understand. Mr. Staples in my opinion as read and condensed a lot of the famous self help psychology books into his works, with lots of deep and thought provoking wisdom from some of the biggest thinkers from the past, highlighting topics in his books and showing that wisdom as been around for a long time if you are receptive to it. I highly recommend all Walters books.
