Another in the White Wolf Reissues of the classic Sword and Sorcery series

As stated (and mis-stated) in the other reviews, this is not a graphic novel nor a comic book adaptation of the series. Mike Mignola did the cover illustrations and some interior art for this, and other, White Wolf re-issues of Leiber's works. I believe it is before Mignola became a household name with his Hellboy series, but the illustrations are clearly Mignola. That being said, the reason to get this, or any of the White Wolf Leiber (or Moorcock, Ellison, etc.) productions is that they are quite simply the definitive editions of this series. This is groundbreaking stuff, and really the paving stones for swords and sorcery fantasy fiction, on a level plane with the Robert E. Howard Conan books, Moorcock's Elric series, or Marion Zimmer Bradley's Darkover series. Read and enjoy! This collection contains ten stories in the "Fafhrd and the Gray Mouser" series, seven originally collected in Swords Against Death, two originally collected in Swords in the Mist, and one from Bazaar of the Bizarre, as follows, with dates of original publication: Thieves' House * Unknown Feb '43 The Bleak Shore * Unknown Nov '40 The Howling Tower * Unknown Jun '41 The Sunken Land * Unknown Feb '42 The Seven Black Priests * Other Worlds May '53 Claws from the Night ["Dark Vengeance"] * Suspense Fll '51 The Price of Pain-Ease * ss Swords Against Death, Ace, 1970 181 * Bazaar of the Bizarre * Fantastic Aug '63 The Cloud of Hate * Fantastic May '63 Lean Times in Lankhmar * Fantastic Nov '59 All of the editions in this series are very nicely done, worth seeking out, and escalating in value!
