WOW..... What a story! I stayed up till 3:30 last night to finish, and find out what happens to the main Characters Zophia and her Brother Abek. A very 1-2 Punch to the Gut ! Never Expected the last 3-4 chapters to play out the way they did. A very Heartbreaking, yet heartwarming story of loss, and strength thru the war, thru encampment, and finally survial.The Young teenage girl Zofia, makes a promise to find her little brother at the end of the war, and No matter what.. they will find each other, be together, and be a family again ...from A to Z ( Abek to Zofia) This story tells of all the trauma, and tragic experiences Zophia goes through, as she is a rescued survivor of the camps. Her want and need to get better in her mind, after all she's been through, trying to remember and piece together what really happened to her and her whole family at the internment camps from day one. This story is told with such passion, and realism, that you wish you could reach out and help Zofia yourself ! Throughout the story you realize that to survive, Zofia keeps recreating different versions in her mind of what happened when her family was taken..just to keep herself grounded and have the strength to push on.To me it is a story of courage, survival ,romance, And Belief in one's self to begin again, and to believe in Life and moving on to find that life. Absolutely LOVED it..Will definitely keep this book ..almost like a friend you meet along in life, don't see again..and wonder..whatever happened to them..How did their life pan out.Wish there was a part 2, to tell us the rest of Zofia's and Abek's life story ! ITS THAT GOOD!!!!
