There's Something about St. Tropez

I loved this book. There were so many stories and all the characters were interesting, funny, and full of hope. The animals in the story were also wonderful. The description of the South of France was so authentic that you thought you were there. The only problem was the description of all the great food, made me hungry. I highly recommend this book - it will keep you entertained and make you feel good. I can't wait for Ms. Adler's next book!

I just finished Elizabeth Adler's newest book "There's Something About St. Tropez". Even if a person didn't care for the characters (which I did) or the storyline (which I did) the book would be worth reading for the sights and sounds (not the least is the food) of France. There is the continuing romance between and Mac and Sunny and though there are not sizzling love scenes, I think they are actually more romantic without graphic details. You just sense they really love each other and may even eventually take time to get married. (If Mac stops answering his phone). The character of "misfits" of people trying to find their place in life and to add to that mix are 2 delightful children Little Lauren and Bertrand who has been abandonded (and your heart just goes out to this sad little boy) makes an interesting novel. We musn't neglect the 4-legged characters. There is of course Tesora and Pirate who belong to Mac and Sunny but another dog "Yellow Dog" is added to the mix of characters. There are a couple mysteries going on with Sunny trying to figure out the story of the lady who owned the villa and some art thefts on top of one of the misfits running from an abusive and powerful husband. The interesting thing was to watch the misfits grow and change from the people who first got together in the beginning to caring about each other and (is it a "spoiler") have some happy endings or ready to have some happy beginnings. Ms. Adler is very descriptive whether it be the clothing, the outdoor scenes or the indoor rooms to the wonderful food and wines. Nothing is left to the imagination. When you finish the book, you really want another saga in the life of Sunny and Mac but you would love to hear more of the "misfits" as they all were interesting characters. Sometimes there is one or more characters in a book that are annoying but I found all the characters in this book very likable (except the villians of course). Even with the mysteries going on it's really a light hearted book that is just a fun read. Very enjoyable for a few hours! PS: Since I wrote this review I've noticed several unkind reviews and I realize we all like different things but thought they were a bit over the top unkind. If you want a book of depth and closer to a literary masterpeice; this is not it! Most of my books I read are books with more depth for sure but once in a while I want just a lighthearted book. Everyone should know by now that Ms. Adler writes that type of book. They are what they are! I read it for the location and the descriptive food and light romance. It's fun for a few hours, then I go back to an author that writes in more depth-James Lee Burke-John Hart-Craig Johnson-C.J. Box-many others. I find Ms. Adler's books just a bit of fresh air and light fluff! We all can use some lighter moments at time!

This is another Adler book describing exciting people, places and events. I see no reason why Elizabeth Adler's books are categorized as "women's books" or "summer reading" books. I am a man who has been entertained by Elizabeth Adler's books since she wrote her very first one, and I might add that I have even read some of her books in the winter! This is a very talented writer, and her novels are for anyone who enjoys good literature, and, of course, good storylines. Oprah Winfrey, are you listening?

Thank you, Ms. Adler, for another wonderful story, with your usual exciting plot and magnificent descriptions. You consistently transport the reader to glorious places around the world, places that most people can only dream about. In addition to calling your creations novels, they can be called travelogues! To anyone who might be persuaded not to buy this book because of Rensualk Teirrah's review, please note that this person always writes nasty reviews. If you Google "Reviews Written by Rensualk Teirrah (Iowa City, IA)" you will see that every review of every product is nasty. This person seems to have a grudge against the whole world. Rensaulk's last name fits his (or her?) personality...Teirrah = Terror. Take my advice....BUY THIS BOOK.....you'll be glad you did! Grace Riley, New York, New York.
