The Young World

This book was amazing. I quite like dystopian novels and the study of diseases so this was a perfect fit for me. The book does contain harsh language and topics, so it isn’t for a sensitive reader. If you’re able to take the opinions of the fictional characters with a grain of salt, you’ll be just fine. The plot was very intriguing and had me constantly on the edge of my seat. The characters were also very unique and exciting to get to know. Would definitely recommend! :)

I picked up this book because I have been on a dystopian kick and thought it would be a good read. Instead, I stopped only a few pages in. All in the very beginning chapters, a traveling group of teens were looking to trade with the main protagonist group of teens. Except they weren't looking to trade goods. They wanted two young girls for one of their pigs. A few pages after that, we jump into another POV from a teen girl who immediately went on to talk about herself as having a body not fit for any boy. This author has decided to go against what most seasoned readers appreciate and gave the hated descriptions of breasts and other bodily porportions. It was distastful and I have since stopped reading it.
