This review is coming from someone very far removed from the financial world and it's seemingly indecipherable jargon. I have a vague understanding of how hedge funds work, and before reading this book, had zero understanding whatsoever of how Madoff propagated the idea he was a financial wizard when he was really just a con man. This book used layman's terms when neccesary and gave ample context when describing confusing aspects of the financial world, thus making it read smoothly for an outsider. This book was excellent and very thorough, delving into Madoff's early history of unethical behavior, his family life, and the lives of those who conducted business with him regularly and may have had an idea of what Madoff was up to. A definite must-read.
