The Witches of Moonshyne Manor: A Halloween Novel

THE WITCHES OF MOONSHYNE MANOR by Bianca Marais This book is what my friends and I fantasize about whenever we talk about getting together to live out the rest of our lives in a commune. A place we can craft, write, read, drink assorted beverages, garden, cook scrumptious meals, dance under a full moon and do all the witchy things! With that said, I love how this sisterhood of eccentric old biddies are unapologetically sassy, independent, and living it up. They’re not going to let their beloved manor get turned into another strip mall/brewery! While I did enjoy this, I felt it needed to be edited down. A lot. It took so very long to get to the point. Some of the side stories were distracting and convoluted. Other plot details leaned too far into “social commentary” that it turned preachy. The premise was promising, but execution was lacking.
