Flying falcons!

This "first person" account through the eyes of a hatchling falcon has a credible storyline. From a nest high atop the school building a hatchling is stolen. The lonely boy who stole him doesn't get what he had hoped with his caged falcon and the bird becomes weak as he can't eat the food the boy brings. A happy outcome for the boy who took the bird, the falcon and of course the reader gives a peace and a sense that all is right with the world. The narrative through the eyes of the falcon is quite good and the illustrations fill out the storyline. Great talking points with children about rearing birds of prey in captivity. Imparting real life information in an enjoyable format versus a textbook approach is always a huge plus and this does just that superbly.
