The Wilton Way of Cake Decorating

I find this book very informative. Great pictures. This will really come in handy in the coming years.

I feel this is THE best book out there for cake decorating. Yes, it's from the 70's so you must look past the fashions/colors of the day. .. but it has clear illustrations and instructions and is the best book I've found for self-instructed cake decorating. Super, super pictures. Very detailed instructions, tons of recipes.

As a bakery owner, I have purchased so many cake decorating books for myself and my employees as reference, ideas, and as tools for learning. This book is the greatest. So many ideas in wedding cake decorating including lots of photos, cutting guides,tier instructions, icing and filling recipes, shop for cake toppers, etc...etc...etc..... What great ideas come from this book! I also kept a copy of this book in my bakery at all times for customers coming in asking about wedding cake ideas. Many of their ideas were incorporated into our cake making and decorating. If your looking for a great wedding cake book.... I can't say enough good things about this book!

I have gone through a lot of books about cake decorating. None are as detailed as this one (make sure it's Volume 1 ). It is full of pictures and explicit instructions. Most cake books have a little information, or seem to forget that beginners need help practicing borders and flowers. This starts with tips, how to use them, how to do simple and advanced borders, flowers, and a variety of cakes including holiday and wedding cakes. This is truly a cake encyclopedia. While the colors might be not quite the most fashionable (hey, it's a book from the 70's), the instructions and methods will never go out of style.

I teach cake decorating and always recommend this book to my students. You will never be out of ideas with this book; wonderful information regarding every decorating tip made by Wilton. You wont be sorry you bought it ... worth every penny of its cost.
