Good News for Western, Action, and TV Fans

I have to thoroughly disagree with my fellow reader from Binghampton. When I first saw this book, I immediately felt a rush of nostalgia and bought it then and there. I wasn't disappointed. It read like a good episode of the TV series, with the action fast-paced and the twists and turns many. I even found myself mentally casting some well-known actor of the TV show's period (1965 - 70) as the major villian (John Dehner, perhaps? Keenan Wynn?). Robert Vaughan, who, as we know, starred in his own hit series from the same period (Good writing, Mr. Solo!), has captured the whole milieu perfectly. I'm looking forward to reading the other volumes in the series. Sorry, Will, Kevin, and Kenneth. There's only ONE "Wild, Wild West."

A very exciting old fashioned Western.

WWW was a very good book. Vaughan made Jim West and Artemus Gordon just as likable as the TV show. The gadgets were good, but I thought Jim West would woo a girl since he is quite the ladies' man. I thought Artemus Gordon's disguises were better described in this book than in the TV show. Overall the book was filled with action, backstabbing, gadgets, and likable characters.

High flying adventure in the Wild Wild West!!

The first book in Robert Vaughn's WILD WILD WEST series, The Wild Wild West, provides an entertaining story featuring our heroes, Jim West and Artemeus Gordon. Although it is not as good as his second book, NIGHT OF THE DEATH TRAIN, it is entertaining.

Brought back memories.

I grew up on the western. My father loved the Wild Wild West and I always watched it wth him. I feels good to see Jim and Arte riding again. I hope the books keep coming.

Let's do it again

If you enjoyed the show, you will have a terrific time as you read this book. Ignore all of the ramblings of the other reviewers upset over technicalities and get ready to have some fun. The characters and the story came to life for me and I hope it does for you too!
