I read this book -- and Mr. Malgren's other book -- back when I was in his creative writing class in high school. He's a great writer and an inspiring teacher, and I'm looking forward to the day when he publishes a book without a "9" in the title! :) I think he should send me free copies so that when I have kids, they can read these books, too. Clean and honest and fun to read... who can ask for more?

I first read The Whole Nine Yards when it first came out in 1986. One of the best young adult novels I have ever read. Very humorous, and very real with young adult experiences. I have read this book numerous times since its release, as the story and characters never dull, and proudly keep it on my book shelf next to S.E. Hinton's The Outsiders.

Dallin Malmgren brings his characters to life in such a real way that I couldnt put "The Whole Nine Yards" down until I was done. It is honestly one of the best books about teen life and high school that I've ever read. After reading I had to ask myself, "what happens next?" The story is detailed, but not too much so, letting the reader create a world to which he can relate. I would recommend this book to anyone 15 and up.
