Wonderful, heartwarming story of women in England WWII.

I loved getting to know these characters and seeing them change and grow. A famous designer loses all in the London Blitz. She moves to a small village to live with a niece. Clothing is rationed due to the war, and the designer ends up at the local sewing circle. A woman trying to restore her Mother's wedding dress for her wedding asks for her help. This begins a mission to refurbish wedding dresses for brides. This is based on a true story, and gives a realistic feeling for that period.

Historical Fiction

I found this book in a “little library” in our neighborhood on my daily walk with my dog. I am a Sewist so of course I found the title interesting. I could not put this book down! The characters were lovely, the setting interesting and the historical fiction about England in WW2 was so captivating. I really enjoyed this book SO much! I will be sharing it with my friends and will definitely read more of this author Jennifer Ryan, in the near future. Highly recommend!

Romantic historical novel

Thought this book was just ok. Very predictable, but nice story. Definitely written with todays outlook rather than the mores of the time.

History, strong women and sewing.....

LOVED this read. Took me five hours total to finish and wish now I had slowed down to make it last longer. Characters were beyond developed, the history was written with great interest and never dull, and it was always on the move. Kudos to Ms. Ryan for a fantastic read about WWII women and the men who loved them.

Historical Fiction

This is a Historical Fiction. I love the characters, and the characters change so much during this book which I really loved. The characters made this book so great. I loved the drama and that this book took place during war, but we are following normal UK people. I loved seeing how the war changed the regular people. I received an ARC of this book. This review is my own honest opinion about the book like all my reviews are.
