A nice change of pace from "Korea Strait"

Lenson and his secret TAG team are detailed to obtain - legally or not - a new Russian torpedo that is ultrafast. It can sink an aircraft carrier and might shift the world's naval balance of power. And the Russians are shopping it to any nation with cash as well. Lenson first tries to buy it at an arms fair, but when that fails, he and his team travel halfway around the world to the jungles of Philippine islands in an attempt to steal one in transit. When that falters, they have no choice but to try a dicey mission into the belly of the enemy beast. A good novel with varied sorts of action. The many locales are a nice change of pace from the dreary North Pacific monotony of "Korea Strait." It's a bit implausible, as it's hard to imagine Lenson and his technogeek squad being sent on the final mission instead of a SEAL team. But as the action unwinds the geeks prove their mettle.

Hang on for this ride

Unlike an earlier work involving a land excursion in the middle east, this time Lenson has the training to be believable. The action starts on page 1 and doesn't stop, except for the technical stuff that Poyer makes easy for us non-engineers. Very well done. Should earn him more new fans.

The best Dan Lenson tale yet!

The Author manages to work three adventures into one tale, and they're all good. The hero's alcoholism and family issues are submerged to a more palatable level in this novel. Likewise Dan's antagonists within the Navy and the Government are more realistic, not so over the top as in the earlier works. As usual, Poyer's portrayal of technical details and realistic depictions of both special ops and war at sea are wonderful. I will continue to buy and read this series which gets better and better.

Another great book

This is the latest book in the Dan Lenson series. You don't need to start with the first book to figure out what is going on. They are all good books and if you get a chance you should read them. This one finds Lenson and his team trying to get thier hands on a new weapon. The search takes them around the world. This book is well worth your money.
