The Way of Herbs: Revised Edition

Appreciate the illustrations and photographs, helps with plant identification

Just received this book today. I was very excited to find this book as "very good condition" I paid $10.89 for it. BUT EVERY SINGLE PAGE IS WRITTEN ON!!!!!!!! I purchased 3 other books in this order in "good" condition and paid less than $5 each and those books are perfect in immaculate condition. Needless to say, I am a little frustrated.

I found this book by research, and looked it up on internet archives. I tried to take notes, but quickly realized that I needed the whole book. It is truly the most amazing herb book I have ever looked at so far. I have practiced with herbs for almost 7 years, and have read many books, but nothing comes close to this one. I would recommend this book above all others.

I found this book to be great for what I bought it for (to learn more about herbs), but also as a great guide for all-around health. The book brought something to my attention that I was surprised I had not realized before...that herbs won't do you any good if you don't take proper care of yourself with a healthy diet and exercise regimen. I found Chapter 1 (Balance: The Key to Health) extremely useful and enlightening. As I read it, so many things became clear to me about being truly healthy that I felt the need to start running copies of the short chapter and passing them out to friends and family! The large section on herbs is also just as great...explaining uses as well as doses, biochemical properties, flavors, etc. I could go on and on about this book, but instead I will just say: read it for yourself! :)

This is the best herb book around. Mostly when an herb book is written, an author will gather information on different herbs and write them in a book Michael Tiera is different. He has used all of these herbs himself. He has studied with native cultures and writes from experience. He uses Chinese medicine and herbs. He uses American herbs. He also uses Ayervedic techniques. He treats the whole body and not just the symptoms.This book is broken down in an easy to use method. He will list an herb and all of it's properties and how it is used.

Mr. Tierra's reference on herbs is a wonderful addition to my collection. I would strongly recommend it to those who are just starting out in herbology as a first book, or to those who are seasoned pros...This is also a text for many schools of natural medicine

This is perhaps the best book on herbal medicine I have ever read. Tierra covers not only the botanical and therapeutic properties of herbs, he shows with great clarity how they fit into the wider context of holistic healing. His integration of traditional Western herbalism with Chinese and Ayurvedic medicine--and he is a master of all three--justifies his proprietary name of "Planetary Medicine."

This book has been my herbal "bible" for going on eight years. It is the most complete book I have seen, giving biochemical constituents, dosage and other necessary information. I recommend it in all my herb workshops and lectures. It has information for everyone, from beginer to advanced student. A "must have" for anyone interested in the healing power of plants.
