The Wanderer

The Wanderer by Robyn Carr is a great start to her new Thunder Point series. Hank Cooper is 'the wanderer'. He is known to never put down roots and never commit to a woman. In his mind he is destined to be alone for the rest of his life. Then he gets news that an old friend has passed away and left him his waterfront property. When Hank arrives in Thunder Point he tells himself he will just fix up the property enough to sell it. His friend Ben had a building on the property that housed a combination bar/bait shop/diner. Hank also has questions about how Ben died. Sarah Dupre is also new to Thunder Point. She became the guardian for her sixteen year old brother after her parents passed away. To escape a bad marriage to a serial cheater she has relocated here. The circumstances of her initial meeting with Hank are not too pleasant but I don't want any spoilers here. From the first page I was hooked and anxious for what was going to happen next. I loved this book. Although it is part of a series it can be read as a standalone.
