The Wallflower 2: Yamatonadeshiko Shichihenge (Wallflower: Yamatonadeshiko Shichenge)

Let me just say this series goes to 20 volumes. I looked it up. I got 14 so far and writing for this great series to let you know. This is a very funny series with some new art, that is great in it's own way. There are all types of art of the this world that we love so much. 1st: about this volume is really good. I laughed so much it was hard to read it cause i couldn't stop laughing. The teacher leaves Sunako in charge with the school project to rises money, but why,he didn't think she win. So the guys come to help her out but she doesn't care. These guys are just so sexy sometimes even if they look bad ;P.Sunako is happy about x-mas but why cause everyone is leaving her alone finally or are they finally getting to her? Also Sunako gets her body possesed by a crazy lady but a real lady. And that's where you get to see a kiss but why? So end with some hot springs vacation but Ranmaru is such a dog is he in heat 24-7. I mean come on, but it's funny. You might want to get the 3rd volume to see what happens next cause it will leave you hanging. But I'm in love this series is staying in my collection as long as I live then they will be buried with me I think that Sunako would do the same if it was her scarey viedos and her bone friends. While reading Volume 1 of this series, I immediately was overcome by a desire to... go out and buy the remaining volumes. But I didn't... I just bought volume 2 and, right after I finished with vol. 1, I started on vol. 2. All I can say is this: not as good as the first one, but definitely beyond the quality level of some other mangas. The story continues with Sunako still a recluse (and still having those explosive nosebleeds) and Kyohei and pals still the kings of the school. The beginning events are kind of funny; from the "King and Queen of the School" schtick to the haunted house occupied by Sunako, it's good for a few laughs. After that, however, the plot thickens. After the guys discover a basement below the mansion's basement, they begin to explore it.. and find the ghost of a girl that was murdered in the house in 1900. Only one problem: she's taken over the body of Sunako. After Sunako/ghost-person and Kyohei kiss, the ghost leaves her body and they all go back to the mansion.. above ground. After a few other halfway decent scenes, the novel ends with Kyohei and Sunako standing outside on the balcony talking. (Does Kyohei have feelings for Sunako or vice versa? I think so.) Overall: a definite must-read for all manga fans and a 900/100.

One of my new prized manga titles is The Wallflower. I read volume 1 and was soon scrounging around for volume 2. While volume 1 did seem better story-wise, this volume was still quite humorous. Even though I thought volume 1 to be better, this is still a 5-star book. I think the author made sure the comedy didn't get too repetitive, which may be why the comedy changed a little between volumes (the main character running in fear is only funny so many times). If you liked the first volume, get the second. It may not be at the exact same comedy level as the first volume, but it's definately still a great book.

After reading the first volume of "The Wallflower", I had high hopes for the second installment of the series. Though I can't say I didn't like the book, it definitely pales in comparison to the debut volume.Sunako falls slightly out of character at minor points in the story, Kyohei's actions seem a little random and overall the humor is a little less intense as from the first volume. Also, there is a lot less material this time. The actual manga part of the book is a lot shorter than last time's; however, instead of just a pointless laugh-out-loud book, it brings to the table a bit of suspense this time around. There also appears to be a lot more suggestiveness and introduction to possible romances in this volume. I would recommend this manga series as a whole rather than this particular volume alone, and if you really just want to try this series out and not commit to reading the entire thing, I'd suggest going for volume 1 instead.
