Marvelous Information For Any Investor

I have a copy of the first edition of this book, and I've looked at it so often it's falling apart. This second edition appears to be more durable, has all the charts from the first edition, repeats Fisher's commentary from that edition, AND it has a few updated charts, plus Fisher's second thoughts on the subject after twenty years. If you have any interest in investing, I consider this book essential.

Good charts, great comments

I didn't have the 1987 book, so I got this one. Well worth it. Makes you realize nothing we're going through is anything new. I particularly liked the older charts. It's unbelievable how related foreign markets have always been. And the commentary on the Kondratiev wave, both the old one and the updated one, is great. Renews my faith in capitalism. A good book for history buffs or investing buffs.

Good fun

I got this because I enjoyed Fisher's other recent book, The Only Three Questions That Count. If you enjoy market history, this book is for you. This is an update on a 1987 book, but Fisher updated most of his comments, and added a few charts. Don't get the 1987 book--get this one. It has some investing wisdom that makes more sense for today.

Closet Economist

I originally bought this book in the late 80's and wish the author would update the charts/graphs through recent times. Every page of the book provides detailed, large illustrations depicting financial and economic statistics/trends and cycles. I learned a lot from this book in the 80's and suspect if the additional 20 years of data were added to these charts/graphs, it would be a wealth of eye opening information. I have also used some of the illustrations to teach my staff about the economy - it's great!

I highly recommend this for anyone interested in markets.

I first read Ken Fisher's book in 1987, unfortunately for me, after the stock market crash. Had I read it before the crash of 1987 I think I would have sold out. His book clearly gave the warning signals about the high valuations of stocks in that era. I love this book for its simplicity and powerful demonstrations of market history that I have recommended it to many people who want to learn more about markets. I have this book prominently displayed in my collection of books about the markets.
